Does anyone else play D&D? They are fixing to come out with 4.0 edition. Well my hubby hosts a game we play with his friends and we are doing multiple mini adventures right now trying to figure out which kind of character to play for the big adventure coming up "Pathfinders"
I dont play D&D, though i am planning on playing the swedish counterpart named DoD (Drakar och demoner), other than that, i play rpgs called Eon and Neotech (neogames.se) and Mutant: Undergångens arvtagare.. (mutant.nu) :P
Right now, very little rpg'ing have been done, since many of my friends have moved away for studies.. :(
I've tried playing, but it has never gone well. I suspect primarily due to none of the players (or GMs) having real prior experience with it.
I do, however, have the Player and DM's guide for the original 3rd edition and the Monsters Manual. Even if I can't find a decent place to play, the Monsters Manual is a fun read.
I have been playing for going on 19 years now. I started playing at a young age and have gone all the way through from basic, which was before AD&D which is sort of what D&D3.5 evolved from today. 4.0 I am not too phased with just yet, maybe a year or so after it comes out I will have a look at it, but 3.5 will do just fine until then, and even if not, I have a large array of RP games I can play with the mates.
Otherwise, good on ya for trying it out and playing small mini adventures to work out what you want and like to play. keep it up and have fun....
He's played since he was in Jr. High, and got me started when I was 15 or so. Played quite a bit during high school and college, then not as much for a while, then had about a year that we played a lot, then stopped again. My on again off again romance is currently on again. :D I will say that I like 2.0. I'm too set in my ways to go gettinga new version every time the wind changes... :D
Oh, and just so you know, this section if for the "Seeds of corruption" RPG. I don't mind this thread, but i'd hate it to see that the section would get flooded with topics that have no business with the RPG itself.
I used to play, but the convoluted rules and painfully slow combat drove me away to WoD. Apparently that's something they're fixing in 4.0, though they're dancing the fine line between streamlining and dumbing down.

I played quite a bit of&D when 3rd Edition was new. But since most people in my group originally came from Shadowrun we moved on to other games after a few years. As for the Character: Play a Cleric or even more fun a Dwarven Warpriest, everyone likes the healer and a D&D Cleric is basically a Tankmage par excellence.
D&D Player since the coming of 2nd edition, never really got the hang of 3 and 3.5 too much, thought it was something for the young'uns...
no Really :P I thought they changed it enough to accomodate the newer masses, yet it was different enough for me to have a hard time adapting...
